WICKLOW TEENAGERS Chris Currid and Leah Penston are set to star in Real Theatre Companys upcoming production of 'Les Miserables School's Edition', being performed in The Helix Theatre in Dublin from September 7 to 11.

Taking on the iconic and challenging roles of Javert and Fantine respectively, Chris and Leah will both be fulfilling lifelong dreams and continuing to make progressions in the world in which they intend to make their careers.

Eighteen-year-old Chris, from Newcastle, has been performing since the tender age of three, with main roles over the years in a variety of local musical society productions. With a choreographer mother and a musical director father, it's safe to say, performing is in his blood. A student of the renowned Bull Alley Theatre Training College, he hopes to make the stage his livelihood in the future. A self-confessed Les Miserables-obsessed fan, he has seen the show four times in London's West End and is thrilled to be finally playing his favourite character, the villainous Javert.

Telling a very similar story, 17-year-old Leah from Arklow has been performing with local musical societies for many years and like Chris, has had a huge influence from family, most notably her mother who taught her to sing as soon as she could speak. Having just finished her Leaving Certificate, she will undertake a foundation course at Royal Irish Academy of Music before looking to attend a performing arts college in the UK the following year.

'I'm absolutely loving the experience so far,' said Leah. 'I really think we are going to have such an amazing show on our hands and I'm really thankful to Real Theatre Company for such a great opportunity.'

Tickets for the show are available through The Helix Box Office on (01) 700 7000.
