JUVENILE GAA

At our recent Juvenile AGM Officers appointed for 2012 were as follows: Chairman - Alan Dillon, Vice Chairman - John O' Byrne, Secretary -Sean O' Shea, Treasurer- Peter Carroll, Club Coaching Co-ordinator - Peter Carroll.

The Club Chairman thanked all the coaches, parents and kids for their efforts in 2011 and congratulated the U-8 indoor hurling team and the U-12 football team for bringing silverware to the club. Preparations have now got under way for the 2012 season, with a number of coaches been appointed to the different age groups and some coaches attending the upcoming football and hurling foundation courses.

We will have our Registration day on Saturday March 10th at 11.00am in the complex. All Juvenile players registered in the club will be expected to pay their membership fee from Minor down to U-6. All children born in 2007 or before can register with the club, for safety reasons we can not take children anyone younger than this.

Due to the costs in running the club, registration fees will be €20 per child or €50 per family of 3 or more in 2012. All going well we hope to unveil a t-shirt in the club colours at a very reasonable cost on the day. Discipline is becoming a concern in clubs countrywide, so we will introduce our Club Code of Conduct and Best Practice on the day, this will give some guidance as to what is expected of coaches, parents and children at training and matches.

We are very lucky in that we will have a few new coaches with us for the 2012, however, If there are any other parents interested in coaching from U-6 to Minor level in either hurling or football, please contact any of the club officers. Indoor Hurling continues every Tuesday night: U8 from 6 to 7pm and U10/12 from 7 to 8pm all kids are welcome. A hurling blitz for each age group will be organised for a Saturday morning in the coming weeks. We wish all coaches, parents and children all the best for the 2012 season.
