67 first year students travelled to Baltinglass Adventure Centre recently. It was a day of fun, adventure and bonding for them under the watchful eye of their year head Mr. Cregg, and tutors Mr. Brown , Ms Mc Guinness and prefects Gillian Rowan, Aoife Quinn and Naomi O Loughlin. Archery, canoeing, abseiling and orienteering filled their day. It was a great success. This week is certainly the week to be a first year. Thursday last was a day of retreat and reflection for them. In the busy lives we live, these days are both beneficial and treasured. For all those young ladies who graduated in 1989, Saturday September 26 is the night for you to get together. The venue is Phil Healy's Pub at 8.30 p.m. The hockey season has kicked off once again under the tutelage of Lisa Carty. On Wednesday last there were two senior friendly matches against local school East Glendalough. The A team drew 0-0, and the B team lost 0-2. Good luck girls in the season ahead. 'Tus maith leath na hoibre mar a deirtear, and that's exactly what the school was hoping to give the 2nd and 3rd years as they engaged in a day of study skills and useful learning techniques on Wednesday last. The professional course 'Student Enrichment Services Ltd' was well received and gave the students lots of useful tips and advice. The Mass took place on Friday 25 it was a combination of a start of term and official launch of DCW in the Le Cheile Trust. A huge amount of organisation was put in by the Liturgical Committee. - Grainne Wilson, Ed Mc Cann, Mary Gaffney, Cora Maxwell, Deidre Walsh, Catherine O Connor and Mary White.
