MAIN STREET CLEAN UP
Many thanks go to the volunteers who turned up last Saturday morning to help in the clean up of the main street area of the village.
The whole of the main street and around both the boys and girls schools got a much needed tidying. These areas are now looking a hundred times better and it just goes to show what good work a few people can do in only one or two hours.
It is hoped to have this part of the village cleaned every second or third week, so it was great to see volunteers from different areas of the village coming together to help.Already a number of people have indicated that they wish to get involved in the next effort and it is hoped to have more residents of the main street helping out.
A special thanks goes to Jim callery of the recycling centre in the Murrough, Wicklow for his help with the paper pickers, gloves and bags and also Stan O'Reilly of C&D Recycling for his help with the removal of the bags of litter. Their help was gratefully appreciated. Details of the next clean up will appear in these notes shortly.
