LOCAL AGM'S The AGM for the Newcastle Community Centre will take place next Monday 6th September at 8pm. The Residents Association AGM will also take place on the same night at the Community Centre at 8.30pm. Can all interested Newcastle residents please attend.

Newcastle residents association would like to thank Gerry Wray, EU LIFE Project Officer with Birdwatch Ireland, for his excellent presentation in Newcastle community centre, for Heritage Week.It was well attended and enjoyed by all present. TIDY TOWNS
Work on the Tidy Towns competition has now ceased for this year. It is hoped that all Newcastle residents will appreciate the effort made by many this year and that people will strive to keep the village and surrounds litter free for the coming months. NEWCASTLE GAA
The Newcastle Fun Day took place on Saturday August 28th at the GAA grounds. A very successful and enjoyable day was had by all. There are too many people to thank individually but a big Thank You goes out to our prize sponsors on the day, to all the organising committee who put in tremendous work over the past few weeks and to all the locals who came out to support our Fun Day.
Our Intermediate Hurling team had an impressive win against neighbours Kilcoole on Friday evening last in the group stage of the championship. The lads won 1-18 to 1-09 with an all round good performance. Our Junior 'A' football team takes to the field again in the Championship this coming Saturday 4th September. All support will be greatly received in a very important match in the group phase of this championship.
The Lotto took place this Monday August 30th in the Castle Inn. The number drawn were 1, 17, 21 and 25. There was no Jackpot winner and only one person matched 3 numbers who wins €200 for themselves. Next Week's Jackpot will be €5,600.
