Red hot fun at curry fest

THERE WAS A FEAST to behold at The Arklow Bay Hotel at the weekend as the local RNLI hosted its largest annual fundraiser 'Dan's Lifeboat Special'. Formerly known as 'Hurry to the Curry' this popular event has been attracting massive crowds for many years in a bid to gather funds to run the voluntary local lifeboat station.
Despite the challenging times of late the community of Arklow has never faltered in its support of this lifesaving service.
An array of culinary masterpieces were provided for the guests by Jimmy Russell and his army of helpers and included many seafood treats; prawns, lobster, crab, monkfish, salmon, cold meat platters, all types of salads and much more.
Many thanks to all who helped to make the event such a great success.
A total of €5,000 was raised on the night. A special thanks goes out to the small but very hardworking fundraising committee that made the event possible.
