Carnew First Responders are holding their annual Easter walk on Sunday March 28 starting at 2 p.m. at Colaiste Bhride. The Easter Bunny will be there and there will be an egg hunt. All are welcome to come along on the day and enjoy the fun and craic.

Table quiz: The Lions Club table quiz will take place in Fitzpatrick's this Thursday March 11 at 8.30pm sharp. Please come along and give your support for what will be a fun night out. Four people per table at a cost of €30. This event will enable us to subsidise school trips and improve school supports.

The Kilmacanogue History Society hosted a very successful lecture last week. Kevin Moriarty, head of Ardmore Studios gave a very entertaining account of the history of the studios over the last 50 years and of some of the stars who filmed there. There were also slides and photographs from previous years and these were also appreciated by the audience.

The 2010 season for Enniskerry and District Community Games is now literally Up and Running. All budding athletes are encouraged to sign up for the regular training sessions which continue every Tuesday night between 6-7 p.m. at St. Mary's GAA Field in Enniskerry.

Our under 8's suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat away to Arklow Town in a good team performance. In cup action it was a case of mixed fortunes for the under 9's and 10's. Ashford travelled to Newtown and came away with a 1-0 victory in the 9's cup.

A number of teams were in action last week. On Tuesday, the Junior A team got some match fitness under their belts with a pre-season friendly against Newcastle. This was a good chance for the management team to have a look at their selection of players for the year to come. The match ended 1-10 to 1-8 in favour of Kilmac with Simon Doyle netting for Kilmac.

The daisies on the fairways of Coollattin Golf Club are living nervously these days in anticipation of the Annual Tinahely School Golf Classic, which is already an integral part of the fixtures of the club for 2010. The event is scheduled to take place on Friday April 16, the first tee time expected to be approximately 9 a.m.

The group will take their annual trip to the Maritime Hotel in Bantry from Monday April 5 to Friday April 9, with the coach leaving Greystones Dart Station at 9.45 a.m., to join up with the coach leaving St. Anthony's Church at 10 a.m.; arriving at approx. 5.30 p.m. in Bantry, with dinner followed by a night of music.
