Wise words from Micko
MICK O'DWYER imparted some words of wisdom at the Newtownmountkennedy Juvenile Awards Presentation as he told the young players to train hard and avoid the temptations of drugs and alcohol.
Held in the local community centre, the awards ceremony saw the victorious Under-12 side who won the 2009 Junior A Championship presented with their medals. The Under16 Shield Final winners also received their medals.
The Under-8, Under-10 and Under14 sides were well represented on the night as well.
Local lad and Wicklow football favourite Dean Odlum accompanied
on the night and both men staid around to make sure that each and every young player present had an opportunity to get an individual photograph taken with them.
Vova Rooney was the Under-12 most dedicated player, Michael Doyle the Under-12 player of the year and man of the match in the Under-12 County Final, Aidan Carthy was the Under-14 most dedicated player, Stuart Synnott the Under-14 player of the season, Shane Farrell the Under-16 most dedicated player and Stephen Davis the Under16 player of the season.
