STUDENTS ATTENDING De La Salle in Wicklow town have been learning all about banking thanks to a group of money savvy school mates.
The AIB Build a Bank Challenge gives students the opportunity to run their own school bank by setting up, running and the day-to-day management of the bank from the school.
Colin Smullen has taken on the bank manager responsibilities, David Jameson is the assistant bank manager, Yoish DeVreed is responsible for sales marketing, Ben Porter is the auditor while the two tellers are Owen Gillis and Paul Commiskey.
The launch of the bank occurred back in October but the efforts of the six students have been recognised by AIB and they head to the Carlton Hotel in Dublin for the regional final of the competition taking place on Thursday.
