Wednesday March 03 2010

THE NAME of the 19-year-old missing since last weekend when his clothes were found abandoned on Wicklow's new pier has been released by the gardai.

Aldis Harcenko of 12 Glendassan Drive, Harbour View, Wicklow, has been missing from his home since 11 p.m. on Saturday February 20. At 9 a.m. the next morning his mobile phone and clothes were discovered by a walker piled up on the new pier at Wicklow Harbour.

His family and the gardaí are very concerned for his safety.

Two RNLI lifeboats, a number of coastguard units and helicopters, the naval vessel LE Orla, navy divers and members of the Garda Underwater unit spent a number of days searching for the missing man, with no success.

If anyone in the area has any

information or any sighting of Aldis in or around these times then the Gardai at Wicklow would appreciate your assistance at (0404) 60140 or (1800) 666111.

Aldis is 5'10 in height and of very slim build with short brown hair. He was wearing the jacket he is pictured with when last seen. He was also wearing grey jeans and white trainers with thick green laces.
