Dunnes bring 60 new jobs
NEW STORE AT NEWTOWNMOUNTKENNEDY
WICKLOW WILL receive a muchneeded boost this week with Thursday's opening of Dunnes Stores in Newtownmountkennedy creating 60 new jobs.
The 20,000 square foot store includes grocery, textiles and homes sections and will be situated in the new Village Centre.
Grocery manager of the new store, Tom Buckley, says Dunnes are proud to be opening their fifth premises in County Wicklow.
'We are delighted to be opening this new store in Newtownmountkennedy. We have received a warm welcome and much support from the local people for the creation of 60 new jobs.'
Dunnes Stores was announced as the new Town Centre scheme anchor tenant in 2007 but last year there were fears the Newtownmountkennedy plans were to be shelved.
