French tourism journalists given a taste of the Wicklow experience

Wednesday March 17 2010
A GROUP of top Business Tourism journalists from France visited Wicklow earlier this month taking in some of the county's top attractions.
The group included journalists from Action Commerciale (a monthly business magazine), Quotidien du Medecin (medical magazine) and Meet and Travel Mag (a French meetings and incentives magazine).
The group was here to experience what the region has to offer and to sample some of Wicklow's superb attractions like Powerscourt House and Gardens and Powerscourt Golf Club and to visit top hotels like The Ritz Carlton. They also enjoyed an evening of food and entertainment at Johnny Foxes pub.
Earlier in the week, they visited the new Convention Centre Dublin (CCD).
Tourism Ireland is stepping up its efforts to grow Business Tourism from its key markets around the globe in 2010. In anticipation of the opening of Convention Centre Dublin in September, Tourism Ireland's marketing investment in the lucrative Business Tourism sector has been increased to almost €2M, targeting the Association Conference sector in major markets,
including France. A programme of high profile Business Tourism events and promotions is taking place highlighting the great facilities and capitalising on the excitement around the opening of CCD which can deliver benefits for Wicklow and indeed the whole of the island in spin-off meetings and events.
