Fundraisers to relieve pressure on choc-a-bloc animal sanctuary
SHARPESHILL ANIMAL SANCTUARY IS full to capacity with animals at the moment placing the WSPCA under increasing pressure.
January has also seen a noticeable increase in call- outs, including a lot of cases involving geese, cats, dogs and horses. This puts a considerable amount of pressure on the organisation, both financially and work-load wise.
In order to continue the invaluable work they carry out a number of forthcoming fundraisers have been organised. On Thursday February 2 at 8.30 p.m. Wicklow and District Lions Club have organised a table quiz in Fitzpatrick's Pub, Rathnew. This should prove to be a great night out and a minimum of 15 tables are needed to make it a success.
Bucket collections will take place on February 3, 4 and 5 in Tesco in Wicklow town, so if you are out shopping please give offer some support.
On April 1 in Sharpeshill the annual Easter Open Day for the whole family will be taking place. There will be lots of activities taking place from 1.30 p.m. to 4 p.m. including Easter egg hunts and egg and spoon races.
Your support at any of these fundraisers will help keep WSPCA funded so they can continue to care and look after Wicklow's uncared for, abandoned and ill-treated pets and animals.
