LORNA DOORLEY and Maureen Griffin have opted for the ultimate sacrifice in a bid to raise funds for charity – they will be shorn of their luscious brunette locks.

Lorna, originally from Glenealy, and Maureen face a scalping at Fitz's Pub in Wicklow town on Saturday night. Local hairdresser, Tracey Smullen, has been given the task of shaving the heads of both ladies bald as a coot. Lorna is already dreading the big day. 'We are both very nervous and have a selection of hates already picked out to keep us warm.'

Owen Deehan will be DJ on the night and all the money raised will go toward bone marrow treatment and research. Nearly all the local businesses in town have already gotten behind the two girls, and an auction and raffle also takes place as well.

Lorna promises you won't be disappointed. 'You could buy a nice present at the auction for Valentine's while having a good laugh at the expense of two bald women.'
