Local heroes hold meeting
THE LOCAL HEROES campaign for Wicklow town continues to gather momentum with another public meeting taking place on Thursday in the Grand Hotel.
The meeting will be organised by the Wicklow Town Forum, which is a partnership of Wicklow Town Council, Wicklow Town Chamber and other vocational and community interests.
A presentation two weeks ago saw over 150 people attending, the vast majority of whom represented different businesses, organisations and sporting clubs. After the presentation over 100 people took part in a workshop and produced their own lists of initiatives which it's hoped will push Wicklow town forward as both a good place to shop and as a tourist destination.
Those responses have been tabulated by the organising committee and details of the 100 day plan will be announced at Thursday's meeting in the Grand Hotel, with a starting time of 7 p.m..
