Micko brings Sam along to launch of family walk

THE NINTH Wicklow Summer Family Walk was officially launched by Mick O'Dwyer who was accompanied by the Sam Maguire Cup.
No doubt Micko will be hoping to be reacquainted with the cup some time later in the year, but all minds last Monday in the Leitrim Lounge focused on the Pat Lawless organised walk.
GAA fans were certainly well catered for at the launch, which was also attended by star players Leighton Glynn and Ciaran Hyland.
Also speaking along with Micko were Kevin Delaney of the Irish Cancer Society and Dr. Brendan Cuddihy from the Wicklow Hospice Foundation.
This year's 10K walk starts on Sunday June 13 at the Leitrim Lounge and travels through the streets of Wicklow, before returning back to the starting point. After the walk a head shave and leg wax will also take place.
The walk is in aid of Wicklow Hospice Foundation and the Irish Cancer Society.
To date €165,000 has been raised from the previous eight walks along with various challenges.
