New M50 school to care for students with special needs

Wednesday November 12 2008

CHILDREN from Wicklow and the rest of Leinster with communication difficulties will be supported by a new school off the M50 in Rathfarnham.

Enrolling is open now for January 2009 for Children from birth to 18 years.

Release Communication Intervention is a not-for-profit social enterprise which teaches parents and children the practical skills and techniques they need to overcome communications difficulties.

It is hoped that because of its location, just two minutes off the M50, the school will support enrolments from the surrounding counties of Wicklow, Kildare, Westmeath and Offaly, as well as Dublin.

Release Rathfarnham will be based on the model that has been successfully rolled out in their Dundalk school. Since opening its doors in January 2005, Release has worked with over 750 children of varying communication difficulties totalling over 6,300 hours of communication therapy.

Parents wishing to have their child assessed or enrolled should contact Pauline at Release as soon as possible on (01) 8531578 or email paulinegreene@release.ie or register their interest on www.release.ie
