'Rocky Horror' part of film club's new billing
SEASON BEGINS WITH HIGHLY ACCLAIMED 'PRECIOUS'
WICKLOW FILM CLUB is starting their new season on September 20 with the filming of Precious. The winner of six international film awards this is a great film to kick start the season. This event is sponsored by Costello Property Services.
October 23 sees the screening of the Rocky Horror Picture Show which is sponsored by Wicklow Gaol. In keeping with the spirit of Halloween this film will be shown at Wicklow Gaol. While fancy dress is optional it is encouraged!
The third screening is This Other Eden which is the first Irish feature film to be directed by a woman, Muriel Box. This is sponsored by Tarrant and Tarrant and takes place on November 15. A Prophet will be screened on January 17 and this is sponsored by Dooley Poynton Auctioneers. This is the winner of two international film awards.
February 21 sees the screening of The White Ribbon which also won two international film awards. This event is sponsored by Casapepe Ristorante.
His and Hers which is screened on March 21 is sponsored by the Wicklow Pipe Band and the Cave Steiner School. This won five film festival awards.
On April 18 Departures which is sponsored by Zoe Patterson of FYI Dance Club and Lorraine Gannon of Dekoratif will be screened. This took home the coveted title of the 2009 Academy Award for Best Foreign Film.
The final screening of the season is Micmacs and it takes place on May 16 and Wicklow Film Club is still looking for a sponsor for this event.

There will be two screenings each day of the film club, one at 11am and one at 8pm.
The morning screening is a new addition which might suit members who would like to meet up for a coffee and a film. Both screenings take place upstairs at Ernie's.
There are a limited number of membership tickets available at a discounted price of €40 for the whole season but guests are welcome to come along on any night for €8.
