Seán's song has a French Connection
A WICKLOW man's song, aptly titled 'A French Connection', will be launched during the St Patrick's Day celebrations in the French town of Montigny.
'A French Connection' will be performed by Sean Olohan's band 'Avoca' at a Gala Evening in Montigny next week. Sean hopes that the song will become the new 'anthem' for the twin towns, as well as five other areas linked with Montigny.
Before the band visit France , Avoca will travel to Switzerland, where they have will perform for the 'Penny Faqrthing' chain of pubs .
They will then move to Grindlewald a ski resort high in the Alps, where they will celebrate another Wicklow-European connection through music.
Grindlewald nestles at the foot of the famous Eiger mountain which as a very strong connection with Co Wicklow, as Charles Barrington from Fassaroe in Bray was the first man ever to climb the mountain 150 years ago.
Sean has written a song to mark this achievement, 'The Man Who Reached The Sky', and will perform the song for its launch at a special Irish Evening in the Eiger Hotel, which will be attended by local dignitaries.
