Skies burst into life at summer barbecue

ROUNDWOOD, IRELAND'S highest village, will be the setting for Astronomy Ireland's annual Star-B-B this August.
The event is Ireland's biggest telescope festival and also Astronomy Ireland's largest annual fundraiser.
The most powerful telescopes available in Ireland will be available for use while professionally catered food will be provided by Michelin experienced chefs.
There will also be a night sky guide present, prizes and an overview of the constellations. People are advised to bring their own binoculars and will learn how to best use them to view the stars above.
A special laser show will unveil the secrets of the sky.
Adult tickets cost €39 each, while tickets for Under-16s are €29.
The event will go ahead on Saturday August 27 regardless of the weather. If the sky is overcast that night, however, Astronomy will organise a separate telescopeevent for the following weekend.
