Wetlands Day to be celebrated
WICKLOW County Council celebrates World Wetlands Day at the County Buildings, Wicklow town on Thursday.
The theme this year is 'Wetlands, Leisure and Tourism'. The launch begins at 11 a.m. with a talk from Eamon De Buitléar and a chance to view some early film footage of wetlands. The day finishes with a short guided nature walk along the Murrough and the Leitrim River.
There will also be a guided nature walk hosted by Birdwatch Ireland departing the County Buildings at 12.15 p.m.. It will take approximately 45 minutes but you must book first by contacting Heritage Officer, Deirdre Burns, at (0404) 20100 or dburns@wicklowcoco.ie.
