Commiserations to the members of the juvenile club who were defeated in a Leinster Schools final last week representing Carnew. We had six members on the panel and they were: Robert Fitzgerald, Dean Barnes, Conor Lambert, Dylan Doyle, Cathal Healy and Eamon Byrne.
Club membership is due and all relevant forms and fees should be handed to John O'Neill the club treasurer. For adults it is €50 and for students and non-players it is €20. The club's annual race night takes place this Saturday 13th in the Saltee. The Junior team played a friendly with An Tochar on Thursday night. A few experienced heads polished and cleaned the boots and returned to the green jersey as we ran out winners.
The intermediate team were unlucky in their opening Division 1 League outing away to Bray. The scoreline was 2-10 to 09 in favour of Bray but a few missed chances in front of goal was the eventual difference.
Well done to Alan Byrne on his performance for the Wicklow team in their 014 to 0-7 victory over Carlow in the National League this week and to Stephen Murphy who represented the Wicklow minors in their Leinster League victory over Kilkenny.
