BALTINGLASS got off to a flying start in Division 1 of the Senior Football League at Baltinglass on Friday might. The Slaneysiders were the first clear winners of the new season and looked sharp and fit.
Hollywood started well and points by Keith Peppard and Peadar Traynor gave them an early lead
It proved a false start, however. Baltinglass took control and three good points by Joey Kelly and two be Henry Sinnott left them leading by 0-5 to 0-2 at half-time, Hollywood having failed to score after their early burst.
Thomas Burke had an early point for Hollywood in the second half but again it sent out the wrong signals. They failed to score again and the form that saw them bring home the Keating Trophy last year now looked in the dim and distant past.
