BRAY EMMETS last week inducted the legendary Cork net-minder and manager Billy Morgan into the MBNA Hall of Fame. The former Cork star was presented with his statuette in Croke Park by MBNA's Terri Kelly. Morgan follows in the footsteps of such legendary names as Offaly and New York footballer Peter Nolan, Kerry greats Mick O'Dwyer and Donie O'Sullivan, Ulster icons Frank McGuigan (Tyrone) and Paddy Doherty (Down) and former Roscommon and Connacht star Dermot Earley, who sadly died earlier this year.
In accepting the award, Billy said it was a great thrill to be honoured in this way and he also paid tribute the previous winners and the organisers. The great Nemo Rangers man also enthralled the large media gathering with his views on the CorkDublin game and his hopes that the Real Capital would now go on to claim what would be their seventh All Ireland football title. But he warned that they must pick their strongest team from the start and needed to stop tinkering with their line-outs.
