On Sunday 7th March The Senior League commenced with Blessington against Dunlavin in Blessington. Blessington has a good start to the Division 1 League with a one point win over Dunlavin. Wesley Callaghan in goals saved a penalty from Thomas Harney, it was level a number of times during the match and then a great run by Eoin Keogh put us a point up to win the match. The final score was Blessington 1-09 Dunlavin 0-11
Fixtures; Division 1 League Friday 12th March, Blessington V Hollywood in Hollywood at 7.45p.m. The Junior A League will commence weekend 20th – 21st March.
Hard Luck to the Wicklow u21s especially to our own lads Brendan, Kevin, Anthony, Dean and Paul who put alot of work in over the months. We send a speedy recovery to Shane Carthy. Well done to Wicklow Seniors on their win over Carlow on Sunday and to Wicklow Ladies on their win away to Roscommon. Our u12 played their first match of the year on Sunday, a challenge against Eadestown, some lovely football was played and they come out with a well deserved win. Our Academy started back and had some great numbers it will continue every Saturday at 10a.m. Our underage Ladies have done great in recruiting, any girls interested in U12 and U14 should call to the pitch on Sundays at 5p.m. Senior Ladies got a walkover from An Tochar on Sunday morning, they will play Tinahely away next weekend keep an eye out for the fixture posters for time and day. Development squads start next weekend best of luck to all our lads attending.
Our Minors played their seconds match in the league on Saturday, March 6. This was a good close game with both teams missing some of their regular players. St. Kevin's led by three points at half time but Blessington fought hard in the second half after letting in a soft goal to just lose out by two points. Final Score St. Kevin's 1-7, Blessington 0-8
Our Lotto Draw took place on Monday, March 1, with a jackpot of €3,800. There was no winner and the numbers drawn were 2;3;5; and 19 There was four lucky winners who match three numbers and they each received €75.00 the four lucky people was Sean Cullen, c/o The West; Jenna Daly & Caoimhe Keane, C/o Mick Mills; Mick Fisher, c/o The Tudor and Grainne Herrity, c/o John Cremin. Tickets cost €2 each and can be purchased for any member of the committee or in local shops.
The Club's 46th Annual Dinner Dance will take place on Saturday, March 27 in the Tulfarris Hotel, Ticket Cost €40. Music by Epic . There is a bus available on the night and the cost of the bus is €10 return. Tickets for the Dinner Dance can be purchased from any member of the Committee.
