TINAHELY: Tinahely GAA Race Night takes place this Friday 5th March in Black Toms @ 9.30pm. This is a great night's entertainment so why not come and support your local GAA Club, all support is greatly appreciated on the night.

The football season starts back this weekend with the Senior Men playing at home to Newtown in the league on Saturday. Please turn to the fixtures page to confirm start time of the match. So lets start the season with good support for the lads as they kick off their first match in the league.

A presentation night took place last Friday for the Juvenile Ladies Club in Murphy's Hotel. The Under 16 girls who won the A Shield last year were presented with their medals on the night. Well done to all the team on their great achievement and keep up the hard work for the season ahead. A special word of thanks to Sam and Colm in Murphy's Hotel for the use of their facilities and for providing the food on the night which was greatly appreciated.

Also congratulations to Lorna Mallick, Niamh Kenny, Ciara and Rachel Byrne and Aine O'Keeffe who have been selected from the Tinahely Club for the Wicklow County U-14 Panel, this is a great achievement by the girls.

Our Annual Dinner Dance has been scheduled for Saturday April 10th in the Woodenbridge Hotel. Finally all membership to be paid as soon as possible to Anthony Murphy, Anthony Darcy or Mary Dillon it is essential all members of the club pay their membership for insurance purposes and to be registered in Croke Park under the new system for the season ahead.

GLENEALY

The senior girls played Kiltegan on Saturday, 27th Feburay in the Leinster League winning on a scoreline 4-4 to 33. Well done girls on a fine team performance with a special mention for young Stacy O'Neill! Scorers were Audrey Bermingham 0-1, April Dickenson 1-0, Patriece O'Gorman 1-0, Niamh O'Brien 2-0, Pamela Maher 0-2, Laura Manley 0-1.

CARNEW

The first game of the season went ahead in Arklow on Saturday. The game was played at a good pace with some nice football and good scores. We were seven points down at one stage and looked in real trouble but the lads dug in to pull it back to level scores. Final result was Carnew 1-13, Arklow Gers/Ballymoney 1-13 The next Lotto draw takes place in Sinnotts on the 8th March. The jackpot is growing again and now stands at €3,600. Best of luck to our county hurlers as the start their league campaign against Fingal on Sunday. We have 10 players on the panel at present which speaks volumes for the club. Also to Brian Ossie who lines out for the U21's against Laois on Sunday in the Leinster quarter final in Aughrim.

Next game in the football league is against Eire Og on Sunday morning in the field.

BALTINGLASS

The Juvenile meeting held last week was well attended with new faces with plenty of fooballing skills willing to lend a hand to our underage Academy starting back on the 12th March in the Badminton hall from 6-7pm.Wear runners. There will be two registration days for all juveniles on Friday 19th March at 7.30-8.30pm and Saturday 20th at 1112noon. All membership must be paid before games commence.

Adult membership can be paid to Anne Whelan or any Manager. Juveniles. Presentation Night will be held on March 12th. Junior A Ladies had a great workout last Sunday morning against Valleymount. Over 30 girls showed up. Grangecon Boxing Club would like to invite everyone to there "St. Patrick"s Day Punch Up" in St. Laaurence"s GAA Complex on Wednesday, March 17 at 7.30pm. On the night are Anto Nolan and Sean O'Brien Snr). Tickets can be had from Pattersons or around the town.

ST. PATRICK'S

Last Saturday morning we had a great turnout of young girls in Dunbur Park. Over 60 youngsters arrived in the field, and now more than ever we needed extra help to supervise and coach these girls. Please give your name and number to anyone from St. Pats in the field on Saturday morning. DONARD/GLEN

A record crowd at the annual Dinner Dance in Inis Fail on Friday last. Maybe the recession if over. It did help of course to have two clubs celebrating championship wins. First up were the Camogie Club celebrating retaining their senior championship win. This team seems to be going from strength to strength.

Next up were the ladies football team who won the county Junior 'B' title. This was a great achievement after just four years in existence. There were quiet a few dual players involved here. So a lot of girls bad two medals to collect. County camogie chairperson Mrs Breda Byrne presented the camogie medals and Margaret Allen presented the ladies football in her capacity as county chairperson. Colm Toomey was presented with a trophy as senior player of the year. Ger Reddin is junior player of the year and Mick Daly was club man of the year. Our senior footballers start their league campaign next Sunday when they play Rathnew away. The ladies will play Arklow Gers away in their first league game

AVONDALE

The Minor Football match played on Saturday against Kilmac ended in a draw. The next minor football league match is fixed for next Sunday 7th March at home at 6.00pm against St. Nicholas. Well done to Seamas Doyle, Paddy Sheehan and Breda Sheehan who won the county Scór quiz at the weekend . They are now in the Leinster semifinal next Saturday 6th March in Birr Co. Offaly. Best of luck. Juvenile registration for all kids who are playing football or hurling for Avondale this year will take place this coming Friday 5th March at 7pm in the complex. There will be a code of ethics course in the complex on Thursday 24th March from 6.30 to 10.30pm. This course in compulsory for anyone involved with coaching juveniles. BARNDARRIG

The club's dinner dance and presentation evening took place on Saturday 27th February and was well attended. This evening was held in honour of both the footballers and hurlers who won silverware in 2009. Individual awards were also presented to the footballer of the

? year James Maloney, hurler of the year Johnny Nolan, most improved footballer Noel Brown and most improved hurler Roger Belton. Jimmy Waldron also got the Loreal "because I'm worth it" award for his impeccable grooming.

The club would like to thank Mick Hagan for coming and Tom Doyle, Brian Walsh and Eion Brennan for organising a great evening. Our ladies football team made their own bit of history for the club last Sunday morning when they played AGB in Kilmacurragh, they are our first ladies team in our long, proud history . Hilda Cullen hit the first ever score for a Barndarrig Ladies team.

CLARA

Clara Juvenile committee held their annual agm meeting on Friday 12th in Jacobs Well, Rathdrum. Officers elected on the night was Chairman: Andrew Nolan Vice-Chairman: Liam Kearney, secretary: hazel Birro, treasurer: Dora Hagan PRO: Brian Windsor. Committee members are: Ann Dunne, Mary Clarke, Paul Carter, Chris Birro, Brian Doyle and Margaret Byrne.

VALLEYMOUNT

The club lotto draw numbers were 4, 7, 10, 17 . No jackpot winner. €25 winners were John Mahon, Katie Monaghan, Jack Patton and Padraig and Ella Keogh. The next draw will be on 13th March with a jackpot of €4,450. All players please note that membership fees must be paid by 17th March. After that date unpaid members will not be allowed play matches as per County Board Rules. So please pay your fee as soon as possible. Well done to the lads team on their win against Kilbride in the Tipper Cup. They are now through to the final against Lacken. The ladies also played well and won against Baltingalss. The St Kevins minors also had a great win over Carnew. Congratulations to Sam Cullen on celebrating his 21st.

Well done to all the local children who took part in the community games u14 talent competition in Valleymount. Many qualified for the Wicklow finals which will be held in Hollywood.

ANNACURRA

The club sends sympathy to the Stapleton family, Kilpipe, on their recent loss. Adult training has started back last week and new members are welcome to attend. There was no winner of the jackpot in last week's club lotto. Tickets for this weeks draw are available from the usual outlets. Membership money for players is due and can be paid to the club treasurer, John O'Neill. All players are expected to have membership paid before the league starts which will begin in early March. Non-Players who wish to contribute towards the club should consider getting a membership as well. The annual race night will take place on Saturday the 13th of March. Race sheets are available for the night in question from Ann O'Brien or John O'Neill.

KILBRIDE

Club lotto results held on February 28: Jackpot €800, No winner, €20 winners - Lorcan Clarke, Aine Lambe, Anne and Ann O'Brien, Jim O'Connor and The Company. Next Sunday's jackpot is €800. Membership is now due by all members and is to be paid as soon as possible, Neil Donohoe is the club registrar and will collect the membership of the club's intermediate teams, Paul Cruise will collect the Junior C's and Orla Donohoe will collect the ladies. Any nonplaying member can also pay membership fee's to any of the forementioned or to club treasurer Andrew O'Brien. The membership fee's are as follows: Mens and ladies players €80, non playing members €50 and juvenile members €50. The club are holding a race night on the 20th March in Mooney's pub. Horses and jockeys are on sale from all committee members. Full page and half page advertisements as well as race sponsorships are also available from any committee member

The men's intermediate team were comprehensively beaten by Valleymount, 2-11 to 0-6 in a Tipper Cup semi final played in Lacken last Sunday. This team and the junior C team continue to train Tuesday and Thursdays at 8pm, all welcome.

The Ladies manager for 2010 is Nuala Tisdall. The girls return to training under her stewardship this Wednesday night and are actively seeking new players, All abilities and experience are welcome. BLESSINGTON

On Saturday, February 27, the Blessington minors played Kilcoole in Blessington. The score line was Kilcoole 1-9 Blessington 0-12 The minors got a well earned draw in their first game of the League. Despite having only 13 players they fought hard to keep in touch with a strong Kilcoole team. Some of our younger minors displayed great potential Scores for Blessington was Michael Nugent 5pts; Kyle Gerraghty and Aaron Nugent 3pts each; and Dean McGarr a point.

The club 46th Annual Dinner Dance will take place on Saturday, March 27 in the Tulfarris Hotel. Music by EPIC. Ticket cost €40 each. There is a bus available on the night, cost of bus is €10 return. Tickets are available from any member of the committee. Please support.

Calling all 4-8 year old boys and girls: the GAA Academy recommences on Saturday, March 6 at Blessington GAA Grounds from 10a.m to 11a.m All are welcome. Well done to the Wicklow U-21's on beating Longford last week. We wish them the best on Saturday against Laois at home especially to our own lads Dean, Anthony, Paul, Brendan and Kevin.

Well done to Patrick O'Connor and Conor Phelan who have just completed 6 weeks on the Wicklow U-13 Development Squad. Well done to Triona Hennessy who made the Ladies U-14 Wickllow Panel. Senior will play Dunlavin in the first league match at home on Sunday at 11.30a.m Also at home our Senior Ladies play their first match at 11.30a.m. check out fixtures in local outlets. Hard luck to the Junior A team who were beaten by Lacken in the Tipper Cup semi final on Sunday. Congrats to Barry and Sandra Behan on the birth of their daughter Grace Mary and to Joe and Leonie Byrne on the birth of their daughter Ruby Byrne.

AVONDALE CAMOGIE

Avondale Camogie club were delighted with their response to their open day on Saturday last. Training for the U-16's will start on Saturday next the 6th march at 11 am sharp at the sports complex. we have a new trainer and it is important that we have a good turnout anyone who didn't register on Saturday last are more than welcome to come along . Training for u-8 and u-10 will start very soon. Watch this space for further details.

LARAGH

The Juvenile football club held their annual registration day on Saturday last. Training for the Juvenile's start on Wednesday 24th of March in the field at 6pm for Under 8's, 10's, 12's and the Nursery Group. The 2010 Laragh GAA calendar is still available to buy in Willie McCoy's for the price of €10. The "125 years and Counting, a photo journey of Wicklow GAA in 2009" book is now available to buy from Pierce Park in Arklow (086) 3480290. You can also buy the book in Eason's book shops and it retails at a price of €30. This book contains some lovely pictures of some well known faces young and old from around Laragh as well as every other club in Wicklow.

The Club would like to thank Richard Cullen and Tommy Cullen for all their hard work and dedication the last few years in their roles as Chairman and Treasurer although they are stepping down from their post's the club appreciate them both staying on to help out within the club.

DUNLAVIN

Dunlavin Lotto results for the Monday, February 22 were as follows: There was one match three, James and Eddie Whelan. Winners received €250.00. Numbers were 9, 20, 25, 28. Promoters prize winner Tuttys. Congrats to all and thank you for your continued support.

Dunlavin will play their first game in Division 1 for a long time when we take on Blessington at 11.30am next Sunday, February 7 in Blessington. The lads are determined to make a good start and continue where they left off last year, So we look forward to seeing all our great supporters there at the game. U/8's and U/10's start back training this Wednesday night 03rd March at 7pm in St. Kevin's Community College.
