The following are the results of last weekend's 18 holes stableford competition which was staged at Coollattin Golf Club.

18-holes stableford: Liam Kavanagh (17), 44; Paul Kavanagh (14), 43; Gross: Willie Gibbons (6), 33; Noel Kearney (15) 41; Saturday, Paul Quinn (21) 41; Sunday; Conor O'Byrne (11), 41.

On Tuesday next Coollattin is staging an open eighteen holes singles stableford competition. The entry fee, which includes the competition and competition is €25 for visitors and €15 for members. Ladies Bumper Day, Thursday, August 26: Class 1 - 1st: Mary Barrett (H/C 18, 37 points; 2nd. Michelle Crummy (H/C 08, 35 points); Class 2 - 1st: Norah O'Cuilleanain (H/C 19, 36 points; 2nd: Stella Burke (H/C 22, 35 points); Class 3 - 1st: Paula Johnston (H/C 29, 40 points, on back 9); 2nd: Angela O'Connor (H/C, 36 40 points).

Men's competition, August 28, Noel Hitchcock (15) 40 points, James Kearney (12) 39 points, Liam Canning (4) 39 points, Just Hayes (19) 38 points. WICKLOW

The following are the results from the recent competition in the Men's section of Wicklow Golf Club. The winner of the Men's 18-hole monthly medal strokes competition held on Sunday, August 22, was Paul Furlong (6) with 64, 2nd was Ryan Lavery (11) with 65, 3rd was Casey O'Brien (10) with 68, 4th was Kevin O'Mahoney (10) with 68, 5th was Aidan Doyle (10) with 69 and 6th was Paul McDonald (12) with 70.

The men's senior open was held on August 24th ans the winner was Vincent Brady (19) with 42 points, 2nd was Bill Cunningham (22) with 44 points. The winner of class 1 was Breffni McCabe (18) with 39 points, the winner of Class 2 was Ger Long (11) with 38 points and the winner of Class 3 was Sean McGauley (13) with 38 points.

Finally the results of the semi-open 4-ball v-par competition held on Thursday, August 26, were; 1st Pat Dunne (10) and David Delaney (8) with 9up, 2nd was Brendan Hickey (15) and Mark Redmond from Blainroe Golf Club (+2) with 8up and 3rd were Michael Collins (12) and Michael Crenvin from Old Conna Golf Club (15) with 7up. The Arklow Harbour Golf Society Captain's Day outing was held on Saturday last at Glenmill Golf Club. A large turnout of players was the order of the day and with excellent weather conditions competition was very keen on the day.

Captain Jimmy Stafford teed off first with the other past captains but it was John Byrne the carpet man who pulled the rug from under the opposition with a blistering back nine of 23 points to take the title with a score of 37 points. John also took nearest the pin.

In second place was Michael Barnes with 36 points, and Owen Riley was third on 35 points.

Dinny Hannigan took the front nine, and Jimmy Stafford back nine. The presentation of prizes took place in the Harbour Bar where the management put on an excellent meal and a great night was had by all.

Competitions continue every Sunday mornings and new members are always welcome. BRIDGE HOTEL GOLF SOCIETY

The Bridge Hotel Golf Society competition results last week. In first place was Roy Brauders with 37 points; Class 1. Harry Kavanagh 35 points; Class 2. D.J. Naughter 34 points; Nearest the Pin - Harry Kavanagh 11ft; Front Nine - Jimmy Tyrrell 18 points; Back Nine - John Gilbert 17 points.

The Bridge Hotel Golf Society Annual Fundraising Outing, in aid of Arklow R.N.L.I., will be held at Ballinacarrig Golf Club, Brittas Bay, on Saturday, September 25. Teams of four €100. The Wicklow Scratch Cup will once again take place in Delgany Golf Club on Sunday, September 12 following its revival in 2006.

This year's event is being sponsored by TopGolfer as part of their thirty Scratch Cup tour events. This is the last chance for participants to qualify from a Senior Scratch Cup to the two day TopGolfer Tour Championship event in Carton House on the 16th and 17th of October where the 30 winners will compete all expenses paid over 36 holes in the Montgomerie Course to become the first TopGolfer Tour Champion of Ireland.

The Wicklow Scratch Cup will take place over 36 Holes (Handicap Limit 4) and last year's winner was Alan Condren of Greystones who has won this event three times in a row.
