CLUB CALL
SHILLELAGH UTD LADIES FC
The girls eventually came out on top last Sunday, in what proved to be a very difficult tie away to Camolin Celtic in the third round of the Wexford Cup.
Despite opening the scoring with a Fiona Byrne strike, the team trailed 2-1 at half time.
The girls upped their game in the second half and once Elaine Murphy levelled things up, they pressed on and took control of the game.
Fiona completed her hat trick with two further goals, to ensure the team progressed to the fourth round.
This Sunday we face Wexford Celtic at home in the semi-final of the Boland Carpets Cup. A big effort is required from everyone as we try to get through to the final. Do come along and cheer the girls on!!
Training continues every Tuesday and Friday at 7pm.
Congratulations to Alison Smyth, Cummer, this week's €100 winner in our 210 club draw ; Winning numbers 20 & 31.
WICKLOW ROVERS AFC
Well it wasn't a good weekend for action on the playing front with the weather proving to be the winner.
The first team's match away to Phoenix FC on Friday night did manage to get played and the lads secured all three points with a valuable 2-1 victory.
In a good solid team performance Paul O'neill bagged a brace to bring his tally to eight for the season and ensured they keep the pressure on Tolka Rovers and Bangor Celtic who are above them in the league.
This result means they are now four points behind league leaders Bangor Celtic with four games in hand and three points behind second placed Tolka Rovers with three games in hand.
The only other game to escape the weather in the club was the under 9C's match away to Arklow United and what a game it was, the lads came out the right side in a nine goal thriller winning 54. Christopher Bouchier hit a magnificent hat-trick (his third hat-trick of the season) to bring his tally to nineteen for the season and Sam Brown added a brace in a splendid game of football.
As you can see from above we had one player in the hat-trick club this week and that honour fell to Christopher Bouchier who notched his third hat-trick of the season for the under-9c's in their 5-4 away win against Arklow United, this brings his total to nineteen for the season, well done Christopher.

WICKLOW TOWN AFC
The club would like to congratulate Robert Talaga on Making the under 13 County Squad.
It was a quite week on the football front for the club as most of the gamed were cancelled due to the weather. The over 35's game away to Greystones, the under-10's away to Newtown and the 2nd senior team away to Wicklow to Celtic were all called off due to unplayable pitches.
So the first of the game of the weekend to survive the weather were the u11s, They played their 1st shield match in premier division at home to Arkow town A, they lost 6-0, but in fairness to the lads they battled hard and created chances which if they had put away would have shown a better overall picture of the game,
The Senior Premier team won 5-2 in premier league at home against Arklow Celtic. Team Captain Ricky Quinn with 3 and Warren Gormley with the other 2 goals. The lads are now only a few points behind and putting pressure on table toppers Newtown.

NEWTOWN JUNIORS F.C.
Only one match survived the weather and it was an important one as the 14's maintained their top spot in the league after a 4-1 away win over Enniskerry.
They led 3-nil at half-time thanks to three fine long range efforts from Dillon Carthy, Ryan Taylor and Michael Coghlan.
In the second half Newtown seemed to ease off and though Enniskerry did pull a goal back they did create other good chances.
Keegan Heffernan scored Newtown's forth goal in the dying minutes to secure all three points. Best players on the day were Jamie Wood, Alex Synnott and Sean Carthy.
Goalscorer Ryan Taylor suffered a head injury after an accidental clash of heads and had to stay overnight in Tallaght hospital as a precaution but we're glad to report that he has fully recovered.
Well done to Liam Odlum from the under-12's who has been selected on the County under-12 squad and well done also to under-15's trio Andrew O'brien, Darren Walsh and Vova Ribakov who represented their county in Carlow recently in the inter-league competition.

No matches for any of our team's last weekend as the adverse weather conditions won the day. The under 19's received a walkover from Enniskerry in the league cup and therefore they advance to the semi-finals.
The winner in our Member's draw this week was Colm Doyle and he receives €100. Well done Colm. Fixtures etc can be viewed on the new league website www.wdfl.ie
